last saturday an orange line train was turned into a traveling art gallery
each car offering the exhibit of a different artist or collaboration
it went around the loop in circles
it was dizzying fun

jack o lanterns

secret flowers

make up a basket of paper boats
from the torn out pages
of hillbilly romance novels
skewered together with matches

under the light of a full moon
take the boats to the crik
after chop chop chopping a path
through thick jungle plants
stretched twelve feet tall

set the boats to flame
and watch them float down the crik
while their smoke pushes them
into the darkness
