blue tapetum lucidum
this is the layer on the back of the eye of a cow. it helps with the animal's night vision. the heart of the ocean tapetum layer can be found in other strange reflective eyes in the dark creatures like cats, dogs, and spiders. it reflects visible light back through the retina, increasing the light available to the photoreceptors. it has been known to improve vision in low-light conditions, but can cause the perceived image to be blurry from the interference of the reflected light.
we do not have them.
isn't it exquisite?
